In November, Myanmar exported over 44,000 tons of corn earning more than 10 million US dollars in revenue, with 31,389 tons exported by sea and 12,988 tons exported through border trade. The seaborne exports went to the Philippines, Chinese Taipei, and Singapore, while the border trade exports went to China and Thailand. Myanmar's corn planting area is approximately 1.2 million acres, with an annual output of more than 2.6 million tons, and corn is the second largest source of foreign exchange earnings after rice.
