Myanmar corn sells well abroad, earning tens of millions in foreign exchange income a month

Data from the Myanmar Ministry of Commerce show that in November this year, Myanmar exported more than 44,000 tons of corn and earned more than 10 million US dollars in revenue. ​ In terms of export methods, 31,389 tons of corn were exported by sea, earning US$7.601 million in revenue; while 12,988 tons of corn were exported through border trade, earning US$3.39 million in revenue. ​ In terms of seaborne exports, Myanmar exported 31,170 tons of corn to the Philippines, more than 190 tons to Chinese Taipei, and 29 tons to Singapore, totaling 31,389 tons. ​ In terms of border trade, Myanmar exported 12,000 tons of corn to China and 988 tons to Thailand, totaling 12,988 tons. ​ At present, Myanmar's corn planting area is about 1.2 million acres, with ...
