It is reported that this seminar aims to promote the upgrading of the bamboo shoot production and bamboo handicraft industries through technology exchange and market opportunity exploration, and to strengthen collaboration between entrepreneurs and relevant departments. The minister pointed out that from bamboo shoot production to the processing of handmade products, bamboo, as a natural product that can be converted into economic value, its industrial upgrading, technological progress, and quality standards are crucial for expanding domestic and international markets. The department is currently cooperating with private enterprises to ensure the supply of bamboo raw materials, optimize production processes, and enhance technology to support the development of small and medium-sized bamboo processing enterprises.
Globally, there are approximately 75 bamboo genera and 1,250 bamboo species. In Myanmar, there are 21 bamboo genera and 102 bamboo species, with an annual harvestable bamboo yield of 318 million stems.
