Myanmar's Fisheries Administration Department report a significant increase in the export value of aquatic products, with over 290,000 metric tons exported from April to October in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, earning 385 million US dollars, a 10 million US dollar increase from the previous year. These products were exported to over 140 countries and regions, including China, Japan, South Korea, and ASEAN countries. There are over 140 aquatic product processing factories in Myanmar, which are renewed licenses annually by the Fisheries Administration Department. The main aquatic products exported are shad, sea bass, South Asian wild rohu, basa fish, eel, shrimp, and crab.
