[By Cho Young-gyu, Korea Farmers and Fishermen's News] A recent analysis by the National Institute of Forest Science evaluates the functional properties of forest fragrance oils in Korea, specifically the atopic dermatitis relief effect of Cypress essential oil and the anti-inflammatory effect of Gomchwi essential oil. Forest fragrance oils are aromatic components extracted from native forest plant resources, which are globally recognized not only as fragrances and flavoring agents but also as natural materials with diverse functions. However, information about Korea's native aromatic plant resources remains limited. The Forest Science Institute aims to enhance the conservation value of plants through industrial utilization of forest fragrance oils in the future.
