Indonesia: National palm oil production has increased as of March 2023, but exports have declined

The Indonesian Palm Oil Producers Association (GAPKI) announced that palm oil production as of March 2023 experienced a seasonal increase of around 12% compared to February. In line with increased production, domestic consumption of palm oil grew but export sales of palm products decreased. As of March 2023 palm oil production was 4.34 million tons for CPO or higher than the previous month of 3.88 million tons. Then PKO production amounted to 413,000 tons, an increase compared to February of 369,000 tons. Contrary to production, exports actually fell from 2.91 million tonnes in February to 2.64 million tonnes in March. The biggest decrease occurred in refined palm oil products which fell from 2.25 million tonnes in February to 1.88 million tonnes in March.
