REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA — The National Food Agency (Bapanas) projects that the national rice stock by the end of 2025 can reach 12.5 million tons. This projection is based on the carryover stock of 2024 amounting to 8.4 million tons, reinforced by the national rice production surplus throughout 2025. Bapanas notes that this projection provides a sufficiently strong supply cushion for entering 2026. With these figures, the national rice stock is estimated to be able to meet needs for almost five months ahead. Head of Bapanas Andi Amran Sulaiman said the current national stock is in a safe position. "Praise be to God, our rice is more than sufficient until today," said Amran while reviewing the preparations for the departure of KRI Surabaya 591 at Kolinlamil Pier, Tanjung Priok, Jakarta, as reported on Saturday (13/12/2025).
