The National Agrifood Health and Quality Service (Senasa) of Argentina has held an online meeting with the Saudi Food and Drug Authority (SFDA) to discuss the resumption of Argentine poultry exports to Saudi Arabia. The meeting also covered the situation of avian influenza in Argentina and proposals to ensure safe trade of poultry meat and eggs without heat treatment. The discussion also encompassed the potential to increase exports of fresh bovine, ovine, and goat meat to Saudi Arabia. The SFDA expressed trust in Argentina's health measures and will evaluate the regionalization options proposed by Senasa. The meeting also touched on the possibility of reducing chilled meat travel times through South Africa instead of the Mediterranean Sea.
