The Office of Agricultural Economics in Thailand has reported a decrease in fruit yield for durian, mangosteen, rambutan, and longkong trees in the southern region, with a total yield of 727,824 tons, a 9.18% decrease from 2019. This is due to inclement weather and drought, which affected flowering and fruit production. Durian yields were postponed to concentrate, and mangosteen yield was lower due to drought. Rambutan and longkong yields were also less than last year, and there was damage to durian yields due to a wind storm. The government is considering adjusting employment contract regulations for foreign workers to address issues.
