Nestlé Brasil informed that the resolution of, this Thursday, 12, regarding the recall of batches of one of its infant formulas is due to a conversion error in data sent to the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa). In a statement released this Thursday, 12 the manufacturer said that there was a mistake in the declaration of the units of measurement of selenium and iodine in the evaluation reports. "The recorded values of 31.1 mcg for selenium and 175.7 mcg for iodine actually correspond to 3.11 mcg and 17.57 mcg per 100 kcal, respectively, amounts that comply with the limits provided in the legislation." The company communicated that it is in contact with the health authority to provide clarifications and reiterates that the products are safe for consumption.
