New EU trade regime with Ukraine to start on October 29

come into effect on October 29, 15 days after approval. Ukrainian exporters will be able to benefit from the new trade regime this year. Access to the EU market for the most sensitive products, such as sugar, poultry, eggs, wheat, corn, and honey, will remain limited and gradual. Full liberalization will be considered only for some less sensitive products, such as milk and dairy products, according to the EU Council. The agreement is bilateral and indefinite, with the next review of Ukraine’s market access scheduled for 2028. The document was signed on behalf of Ukraine by Oleksandra Nechyporenko, Secretary of the EU–Ukraine Association Committee in Trade Composition. The decision is based on agreements reached on June 30, 2025, between Ukraine and the European Commission within the framework of the Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area (DCFTA) review.
