Peru plans to enter new markets next year to continue being one of the largest exporters of agricultural products in the region, according to Jennifer Contreras, head of Agrarian Development and Irrigation. Peruvian products such as aguaymanto, pitahaya, banana, mandarin, turmeric, avocados, grapes, and peppers will be exported to countries including the United States, China, Vietnam, New Zealand, Mexico, Malaysia, Brazil, Chile, and Ecuador. The government has also allocated a budget of S/2,720 million for various agricultural programs and initiatives, including irrigation infrastructure, agricultural productive development, riverside defenses, agricultural innovation, and climate-related preparations.
