New requirements for the quality of margarine and vegetable oil in Moldova

In Moldova, the quality requirements for butter, margarine and frozen foods have been changed. The decisions were approved at a cabinet meeting. Thus, for spread (a vegetable analogue of butter), margarine, mayonnaise and other products with a fat content from 10% to 90%, intended for the culinary, confectionery and baking industries, new quality standards for packaging, labeling and transportation are provided. The new rules concern trade names, organoleptic characteristics and physical and chemical characteristics of products, including procedures for verifying declared fat content. Thus, the authorities want to ensure the placement and sale of high-quality and safe products. Frozen food must be transported and stored at a specific temperature.
