The Queensland government has launched a website providing critical temperature thresholds for 12 vegetable crops to help growers in the state adapt to the impacts of climate change. The project, led by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) Qld and horticultural consultant Peter Deuter, aims to help farmers make informed decisions about crop quality, season timing, and potential changes by providing easily understandable summaries and graphs. The website also offers a tool for growers to analyze their past temperature data and relate it to future projections. The initiative is part of the Qld Gov Drought and Climate Adaptation Program, with the data derived from crop physiology and growth research, local temperatures, and historical crop productivity.
