Red meat prices in Turkey have surged up to 15 percent in the last month, with ground meat now costing 680 TL per kilo and imported beef cubes reaching 550 TL. Despite the Economic Dynamics Planning Board (ESK) stating there is no price increase, animal producers blame meaningless price hikes. In response, President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has ordered the import of cattle from Uruguay and Brazil to address the shortage and control prices. Erdoğan's goal is to permanently increase the purchasing power of citizens and reduce inflation to digits. He assures that civil servants, retired persons, and minimum wage earners will not be impacted by inflation.
