Morocco is set to implement a subsidy system for the import of soft bread wheat from January 1 to April 30, 2025, in response to poor harvests due to drought. The subsidy will support traders, cooperatives, and mills, providing financial assistance for the purchase of wheat for human consumption. The subsidy amount will be based on the price difference between the month's average wheat price and a fixed rate, capped at 300 Moroccan dirhams per ton. This subsidy is aimed at ensuring a steady supply of wheat for the milling industry until the next harvest.
