New Zealand's fruit, vegetable, flower, and wine exports exceeded 10 billion NZD for the first time in the year ending June 30, 2020, marking a 7% increase. The top export markets were Continental Europe, Japan, the United States, Australia, and China, with Asian countries contributing 42% of the total exports. Notably, exports to China surged from 100 million U.S. dollars in 2010 to 784 million U.S. dollars in 2020. The report also highlighted an 8% increase in total fresh fruit exports, with kiwifruit, apples, and avocados being the primary exports, and China importing 565 million U.S. dollars worth of kiwifruits and 34,000 tons of apples.
