The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has launched a program to distribute agricultural inputs to 5000 ginger farmers in Kaduna state who were affected by ginger blight disease in 2023. This initiative, part of the Ginger Recovery Advancement and Transformation for Economic Empowerment (GRATE) program, aims to enhance smallholder farmers' livelihoods and the ginger value chain through crop rotation and other support measures. Governor Uba Sani, represented by Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe, reaffirmed the state government's dedication to assisting smallholder farmers and acknowledged federal support. The first phase includes distributing maize and sorghum seeds, fertilizers, agrochemicals, and crop protection products.
