NOAA Fisheries has proposed to distribute USD 5.5 million in grants to 22 projects aimed at the recovery of various U.S. water species. This recommendation is pending review by both the NOAA Grants Management Division and the U.S. Department of Commerce Financial Assistance Law Division before the funds can be disbursed. The funding is allocated through NOAA's Species Recovery Grants Program, designed to support state and tribal projects concentrating on the conservation of threatened or endangered species. The majority of the funds will be used to continue six projects from previous years, with USD 1.2 million being allocated to six new projects. You can find a detailed list of these projects on the NOAA Fisheries’ website.
