The top prize went to Dangjin Haenaruru Rice, and the excellence award went to Asan Malgeun Rice. The provincial agricultural technology institute conducted evaluations over three phases in March, July, and November, assessing external quality based on the ratio of fully-formed grains, analyzing components such as protein and moisture content, evaluating taste and texture balance after cooking, and analyzing varietal purity. Research and Development Director Kim Hak-heon said, "Although producing high-quality rice is becoming increasingly difficult due to climate change, the dedication of farmers and businesses has borne great fruit," and added, "We will strengthen support to produce consistent quality rice that consumers can trust, and continue to develop technology to secure price competitiveness."
