In August, Norway's king crab exports dropped significantly by 44% in volume and 43% in value compared to the previous year, totaling 223 tons worth 105 million NOK. The primary markets were the United States, Hong Kong, China, and Vietnam, with fresh king crab, mainly exported to Asia, comprising 86% of the total. The average export price was 469 NOK per kilogram, and 78 tons of frozen king crab were shipped. Conversely, Norwegian snow crab exports surged by 51% in volume to 49 tons and by 143% in value to 4 million NOK, with Japan, the United States, and Belgium as key markets. Japan notably increased its frozen snow crab imports by 144%, reaching nearly 900 tons. Additionally, Norwegian prawn exports saw a significant rise of 109% in volume to 3440 tons and a 31% increase in value to 154 million NOK.
