Norwegian mackerel is gaining prominence in the Korean market amidst a surge in global exports. According to the Norwegian Seafood Council, the global export volume of Norwegian mackerel in the first half of this year was 73,662 tons, a 15% increase from the same period last year, with Korea becoming the world's second-largest consumption market. In particular, Korea, along with Vietnam, has been recorded as the largest market this year's first half, leading to an expansion in demand. The cumulative export volume from September 2024 to August 2025 is 45,415 tons, about a 23% increase from the same period last year, highlighting the growth in the Korean market. Based on these achievements, the Norwegian Seafood Council plans to launch the 2025 Norwegian mackerel autumn campaign with the theme "Undoubtedly a Special Choice."
