In April, Norway experienced a significant surge in its fisheries exports, with notable increases in the export volume and value to its main markets, including Poland, Denmark, and the United States. Poles received 10,875 tons of Norwegian salmon, valued at NOK 265 million, marking a 13% and 26% rise in volume and value respectively compared to the previous year. Salmon slices made up 42% of total exports, with a value of NOK 2.2 billion, a 42% increase from April last year. Fresh salmon's share in the market grew by 16% year-on-year, while frozen fish fillets saw a 10% increase in export value, amounting to NOK 857 million. Additionally, Norway exported 4,177 tons of trout to Ukraine, the United States, and Thailand, valued at NOK 485 million, a 56% increase from April last year.
