Norwegian salmon imports to South Korea fell by 23%

A total of 11,994 tons were imported, up 18% from 10,185 tons in the same period in 2023, with an import value of US$60.88 million, down 4% from US$63.46 million USA for the same period of the previous year. Frozen mackerel, Norway's main imported species, amounted to 9,163 tonnes, or 76% of total imports, up 30% from 7,035 tonnes in the previous year, with an import value of US$20.33 million, an increase of 35% compared to the import volume of US$15.04 million last year. The average import price was US$2.22 per kg, up 4% from US$2.14 per kg in the same period in 2023. The second largest fish species imported was fresh salmon at 1,345 tonnes, accounting for 11% of total imports, with an average import price of US$15.48 per kg.
