Novosibirsk residents in Russia ask to reduce duties on rapeseed exports to 6.5% again

Since September 1, Siberian farmers have lost such a support measure as a reduced export duty on rapeseed. Director of Novosibirsk Food Corporation LLC, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Novosibirsk Region Alexander Teplyakov recalled that in 2022, the Russian government introduced a ban on the export of sunflower and rapeseed seeds. For Siberia and the Trans-Baikal Territory, a customs duty of 6.5% was introduced when crossing the Zabaikalsk-Manchuria border post. Since September 1, 2024, this rule has been removed for almost all regions of the district. It is valid only for the Irkutsk Region and the Trans-Baikal Territory, but export quotas have also been introduced for them - 100 thousand and 50 thousand tons, respectively.
