Nut horticulture is dynamically developing in Ukraine

Over the past 5-6 years, nut horticulture has been developing dynamically in Ukraine. The area of commercial walnut orchards is constantly increasing, SEEDS writes. For the sixth year in a row, the share of newly established industrial nut orchards is almost half of the area of all newly established orchards in the country, established with the help of state support. This was announced by the president of the Ukrainian Nut Association, Gennady Yudin. Only in the period 2018-2023, 14,218 hectares of orchards were planted (as of December 1, 2023 - ed.), of which 5,785 hectares were nut orchards, or 41% of the total area of all newly created orchards in the country, planted with the help of state support programs, - said Gennady Yudin in an interview for Agrobusiness Today.
