Sa Pa, known for its cool climate, is successfully growing Israeli tomatoes, despite initial challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Farmers like Nguyen Duy Manh have seen profitability with yields of 25 tons and plans for more, using advanced planting and care techniques, including the use of greenhouses and drip irrigation. These practices have led to higher yields and quality, while reducing pest and disease issues. The Sa Pa Research Camp is also experimenting with different tomato varieties, including the Israeli one, and is selling them in the market. The ward where Manh farms is cultivating about 45 hectares of tomatoes, primarily using the Israeli variety, and the local government is encouraging farmers to experiment with new varieties to boost income.
