The EU-funded ParticiPESCA project is implementing participatory co-management for octopus fishing in Portugal's Algarve region. The project aims to promote sustainable management of the octopus fishery, considering environmental, economic, and social aspects. By involving a diverse range of stakeholders, including fishers, scientists, policymakers, and civil society organizations, the project seeks to ensure the long-term health of the marine ecosystem and the livelihoods of local fishers.
