Vietnam is among the top exporters of passion fruit, with the industry seeing a significant growth of over 300% in the past five years. The country aims to expand the passion fruit cultivation area to between 12,000 and 15,000 hectares by 2025-2030. However, to continue this growth and officially export passion fruit to China, the country needs to improve the quality of its production. This includes adhering to standards such as VietGAP and GlobalGAP, using safe pesticides, and developing a detailed production manual. Other requirements include digitizing records, promoting e-commerce, and organizing the production link for agricultural products for export. The government plans to provide financial support and remove logistics infrastructure barriers, while businesses are encouraged to organize the production link, apply science and technology, and update market information.
