China increases its pork production by 7% in the third quarter of the year

The government of China reported that during the third quarter of the year, its pork production pointed to a growth of 7% compared to the same period in 2024. According to official information, this was possible because local pig farmers accelerated the finishing of pigs, as a measure to combat the overpopulation in the national pig herd. The National Bureau of Statistics of China reported that between June and September, pork production stood at 13.458 million tons.
