Olive oil: Italy high, Spain low, Greece no commercial interest

Average producer prices of over 8 euros per kilo for extra virgin olive oil were recorded in Italy in November 2024, according to Commission data. This price is slightly down, by -6%, compared to October 2024 but up, by 2%, compared to the same period last year. In contrast, in Spain we have a small increase in production and a drop in price. According to the latest data from the Poolred system, from December 10 to 15, the producer price of extra virgin olive oil was 4.1 euros/kilo, virgin at 3.9 euros per kilo and lampante at 3.6 euros per kilo. The Food Information and Control Agency (AICA) has published the olive oil market data for the month of November, which report a Spanish production of 292,019 tons. Regarding stocks, out of the 321,147 tons, 227,750 tons are in olive mills, 98,550 tons in packaging plants and 847 tons in community stocks (Olivarero Communal Heritage).
