Peruvian agricultural entrepreneurs, led by Diego Rodríguez of R. Corp EIRL, are planning the largest pitahaya export to Europe and the United States, starting in February or March of next year. The first shipment will include 5,000 tons of the red variety grown on 80 hectares, with the goal of marketing it as a raw material in supermarkets and restaurants. The fruit is valued for its high nutritional content and is used in various food and beverage products. The Terra project aims to expand to 80,000 agricultural entrepreneurs by 2025, producing over 25,000 tons of exotic fruits like rambutan and pink passion fruit.
