Peruvian fresh onion exports reached 5,976 tons for $1.6 million in April 2025, representing a 77% increase in volume and 88% in value compared to the same month in 2024. The average price stood at $0.26 per kilogram, showing a slight increase of 6.1% compared to the previous year, according to a FreshFruit report. Colombia consolidated itself as the main destination, with 3,570 tons purchased for $1 million, equivalent to 67% of total exports. Compared to April 2024, exports to this country grew 42% in volume and 76% in value, with a 24% increase in average price, rising from $0.24 to $0.29 per kilogram. Bolivia occupied second place, with 1,492 tons for nearly $300,000, representing 22% of total shipments. Remittances to this market increased more than 25 times in volume and more than 8 times in value compared to April 2024.
