Only three out of five loaves of sausage on the shelves of Kazakhstan are produced by domestic companies

In January-June of this year, Kazakhstan produced 32.8 thousand tons of sausages and similar products made from meat, meat by-products or animal blood - this is 2.3% more than in the same period in 2023. This was reported by the industry analytical portal Energyprom.kz. Regionally, the most sausages were produced in the East Kazakhstan region: 5.1 thousand tons, an annual increase of 15.7%. The top five leading regions also included West Kazakhstan (4.9 thousand tons, plus 3.5%), Turkestan (4.2 thousand tons, plus 1.9%), Zhambyl (3.6 thousand tons, plus 0.7%) and Pavlodar (3 thousand tons, plus 3.2%) regions. Almost half of the production in the sector, which is 49%, came from boiled sausages, frankfurters and small sausages: 16.1 thousand tons. Also, 8.7 thousand tons of semi-smoked and 5.8 thousand tons of boiled-smoked, semi-dry, dry-cured and raw smoked sausages were produced.
