Argentina: Onshore shrimp fishery closer to achieving certification

The executive director of the Center for Sustainable Development and Fishing (CeDePesca), Ernesto Godelman, revealed that due to the progress achieved in the certification process for wild onshore shrimp in the province of Chubut, it is likely that during the current season the obtaining of the seal for this fishery can be announced. A few weeks ago, a meeting was held between the technical team and observers from the province of Chubut and CeDePesca technicians, within the framework of the Improvement Project (PROME) of the coastal Patagonian shrimp fishery. The reason for the meeting was to share the methodologies for collecting and processing data on the interaction of the fishery with the habitat and the accompanying fauna, used by the private programs implemented by CeDePesca.
