Prices for most open-field vegetables and potatoes decreased in October. According to Rosstat data as of October 13, head cabbage cost an average of 31.7 RUB/kg, which is 15.15% less than last year, potatoes - 39.76 RUB/kg (minus 9.35%), beets - 38.64 RUB/kg (minus 5.89%), and carrots - 44.09 RUB/kg (minus 4.03%). "Kommersant" reports, citing a study by NTech, that the annual growth in prices for basic vegetables is below inflation, which was 8.08% year-on-year from October 7-13, according to the Ministry of Economic Development. Potatoes and carrots in retail increased by an average of 2% year-on-year last week, while onions and carrots remained at last year's level.
