The National Agrarian Health Service (Senasa) of Peru has opened four new markets for agro-export products in 2021 and is planning to open more. The entry of Peruvian citrus to New Zealand, which was planned for December, has been postponed to the first quarter of 2022. The Association of Citrus Producers of Peru is expecting a decrease in citrus shipments this year, with only 256,000 tons dispatched until week 40. Senasa also plans to open the Peruvian mango market in South Africa in January of the next year. Currently, 60% of Peruvian agro-exports are sent to the United States, 30% to Europe, and 10% to Asia and other regional countries.
