Brazilian peanut production has seen a significant increase, with an estimated 115% rise from the 2014/2015 harvest to the 2021/2022 cycle, reaching 746.7 thousand tons. The majority of these peanuts are exported, with the European Union being the main market, followed by Russia and Ukraine. However, the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine has impacted exports to these countries, prompting Brazil to look for new markets, including China. Currently, 47 Brazilian companies are authorized to export to China. The trade is mainly conducted through the port of Santos in São Paulo, despite some delays caused by a fiscal auditors' strike.
