The 13th International Dates Forum was inaugurated in Erfoud, Morocco, by Hamza Saoud Ahmed Bouari, Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests. The forum saw participation from 230 exhibitors and stakeholders from Morocco and abroad. The Minister highlighted the success of the Green Plan in increasing planting and production and anticipated positive impact of recent rainfall on date quality and production. Morocco aims to strengthen and develop date production chains by 2030, with significant investments in palm oases and creating 92,000 jobs since 2010. The forum also announced projects to improve water management and reduce irrigation costs using renewable resources.
