Opening of the market for live sheep from Brazil to Algeria

The Brazilian government and the Algerian government concluded a sanitary negotiation for Brazil to export live sheep to that country. With around 46 million inhabitants, Algeria is a growing trade partner for Brazil. In 2021, the country exported around US$1.3 billion in agricultural products to Algeria. In 2024, these exports surpassed US$2.2 billion, with highlights for goods from the sugar and alcohol complexes and soybeans, cereals, flours, and preparations.
