[Song Hae-chang, Korea Farmers and Fishermen Newspaper] Until October 28, Daejeon City will operate a food life experience classroom for 601 students from 16 elementary, middle, and high schools within the city. The experience will take place at four rural experience and vacation villages: Musucheon Hamlet, Dume Hamlet by Daecheong Lake, Chansaem Hamlet, and Gaejuksan Hamlet in Jangdong, as well as at the urban smart farm "Daejeon Farm." Students will dig up sweet potatoes, plant succulents to learn about the growth process of crops, and harvest basil at the smart farm to experience future-oriented agriculture integrated with advanced technology. Through activities such as making bibimbap and basil pizza, students will broaden their understanding of food culture, and through village tours, they will also experience the local ecology and culture.
