Climate change has led to an increase in millet production in Ukraine, as the crop is drought-resistant. The global market for millet and millet crops is expected to grow from $ 9 billion in 2018 to $ 14 billion by 2027. India is the largest producer and consumer of millet. In Ukraine, the Odessa region has harvested 25.9 thousand tons from 36 thousand hectares this year, but the yield is low compared to other regions. The expert calls for the involvement of Ukrainian science and politicians to popularize millet production and consumption, and to increase yield.
