Technology activists have developed a method to produce processed animal feed from sugarcane branches, providing a new source of livestock feed and solving the problem of fodder shortage. The sugarcane branch, which makes up 25% of total sugarcane production, has a good nutritional value and can be increased by processing with organic and chemical substances. The project was supported by the Water, Drought, Erosion and Environment Technology Development Working Group of the Vice President for Science and Technology and was implemented in Khuzestan province.
