Ordinance that regulates the Brazil nut chain will be updated

Institutions linked to the Brazil nut production chain, also known as Brazil nut and Amazon nut, began working together to support the updating of Ordinance Mapa No. 846 of 1976. The document regulates classification and standardization of the product, an important source of income for populations in the Amazon region who live from extractivism. Thematic meetings and field visits will be held, from April to July, to discuss each chapter of the ordinance and verify production chain practices.
