Organic cotton project with irrigation advances

Another important step has been taken to expand the cultivation of organic intercropped cotton in the Paraiba Semiarid region. The project, developed by the Paraiba Company for Research, Rural Extension, and Land Regularization (Empaer) in partnership with the Casaca de Couro Institute (ICC), uses an irrigation system that allows up to three harvests per year. The initiative began in the municipality of Pilar, in the Chã de Areia Community, involving three local producers.
