The Forestry and Village Relations Department (ORKÖY) in Turkey has initiated a project to cultivate saffron in Safranbolu district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The project, costing 1.9 million liras, involves planting saffron on a 10-decare area and providing financial support to 10 producers. The project aims to boost the economic development of the forest villagers and increase saffron production, a product with high added value and crucial to the region's heritage. The project was launched with the participation of key officials and the producers.
