An information campaign by the Ministry of Agriculture and Food in Bulgaria has seen over 400 farmers from the Plovdiv and Pazardzhik regions learning about the new conditions for direct payments for Campaign 2024. The campaign, which aims to expand the support circle, requires farmers to have a minimum of 10% agricultural income and a minimum annual direct payment of 2% of non-agricultural income. Other changes include the requirement for a certified inventory of seeds and planting material, instead of invoices. The campaign also introduces coupled income support for the production of seed potatoes and discusses compensatory measures and interventions in environments, climates, agro-ecology, bio-agriculture, and humane relations. The information campaign will be extended across the country by next week.
