(Haenam=Yonhap News) Reporter Jo Geon-yeong = On the 3rd, Haenam County announced that 243,000 people visited the Minam Festival (held on the 31st and 2nd of last month) at Dulunsan Provincial Park.
The Minam Festival was held with the theme of Haenam's premium agricultural and marine products, including rice, napa cabbage, sweet potatoes, and seaweed, which boast the highest quality in the nation, and the delicious foods made from them.
This year, a seaweed theme hall was also operated at the festival site, where visitors could learn about the growth process and varieties of seaweed, a specialty of Haenam's clean sea, and the current status of the seaweed industry, which is being exported as a representative K-Food.
In particular, 250 tourists and others participated in the "515 Kimchi Bibim" experience, where they made kimchi using Haenam napa cabbage, symbolizing the 515 villages of Haenam, and the "2025 Tteokguk Sharing" made with Haenam rice and seaweed, drawing large crowds.
According to the county, visitors lined up at the Haenam Bapsang Hall, which showcases the Haenam Bapsang selected as one of the eight tastes of Haenam, the Minam Food Hall operated by local restaurants, and the Jujeonburi Hall, which presents snacks made with local specialties, making it hard to find an empty seat.
Tourists flocked to various sales booths to purchase Haenam agricultural and marine products and processed foods directly from the source.
County head Myeong Hyeon-gwan said, "We will prepare a festival to convey the healthier taste and charm of Haenam to all citizens nationwide next year and meet again."
