Overview of the world pepper market

The pepper market is currently in various phases worldwide. In the Netherlands, prices are high due to the end of the domestic season, while in the United Kingdom the demand for imported Spanish peppers is good. The French market is currently experiencing oversupply as the end of the domestic season coincides with the arrival of Spanish goods. In Italy the season has also been extended due to the warm weather and these high temperatures have caused unrest on the Spanish market. In South Africa, pepper prices have fallen from their extreme highs as local production comes to market. Meanwhile, China has exported its first peppers to Russia, while in North America both the supply and prices of peppers are increasing.
