Pakistan boosts olive cultivation with 7MM new olive trees

Olimerca.- Promoting domestic consumption of olive oil and generating a powerful economic sector for its farmers and export industries are two of the objectives set out in the framework of the National Project for the promotion of olive cultivation in Pakistan. Following the latest plantations carried out in recent years, which total 5.6 million olive trees, the government is now planning to increase this volume by one million more olive trees, which will be launched in September. It should be remembered that in Pakistan there are nearly 800 thousand hectares dedicated to olive cultivation, of which only 250 thousand can be considered reasonably productive, taking into account the presence of other crops.
