China and Pakistan have signed a protocol to allow Pakistani onion producers to export to China. The agreement, signed by the Chinese Ambassador and the Pakistani Federal Food Minister, will also extend to the inspection and quarantine of peppers, potatoes, and other agricultural and horticultural products. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, trade in agricultural and horticultural products between the two countries has continued to grow rapidly, with the volume of bilateral trade in 2020 reaching 717 million dollars.
